The Dallas Museum of Art on 717 Harwood St, in the Arts District on the northern side of Dallas, is housed in a string of low, limestone galleries. The Museum of the America’s, the most recent addition, displays the early art of the Native Americans, before the arrival of Columbus and the ensuing invasion by Europeans. Of special note in the central museum is the massive sculpture by Claes Oldenburg of an enormous stake and rope entitled Stake Hitch.
