Zagreb Sights, Sounds and Hotels
The twin spires of the Zagreb Cathedral, the most famous building in Zagreb, dominate the old town. It is a stunning gothic building with an extensive history dedicated to the Holy Virgin's Ascension and to St. Stephen and St. Ladislaus. 13th century paintings line the walls of the cathedral, and a number of valuable works of art, such as the relief of St. Paul dating from the 13th and 14th centuries, late Gothic wooden statues of Peter and Paul, an altar with a triptych by Albretch Durer in 1945, renaissance tombstones, carved pews, baroque marble altars, statues and pulpit.
The outside of the Zagreb Cathedral is hard to miss during a visit to Zagreb, but it's worthwhile to visit the inside as well. The superior Zagreb Hotels will ensure that you never to leave.
